The 25th Anniversary Golden Box has Japanese, Traditional Chinese and Korean editions with closely related gold Pikachu designs. They are separate language products, and their contents are not identical. This guide compares the three documented editions so you can match a box to its native packaging, original price and release information before comparing listings.
Original prices and documented dates
| Edition and market | Documented date | Original published price |
|---|---|---|
| Japanese · Japan | Winter 2021 shipping window | JPY 17,600 · manufacturer MSRP, including tax |
| Traditional Chinese · Taiwan | 20 October 2021 | TWD 4,400 · official retail price |
| Traditional Chinese · Hong Kong | 20 October 2021 | HKD 1,220 · official retail price |
| Korean · South Korea | 12 November 2021 | KRW 200,000 · official product price |
These are historical publisher prices for the complete product, not current offers or currency conversions. Taiwan and Hong Kong have separate local prices for the Traditional Chinese edition. Only the Japanese reference explicitly identifies the amount above as tax-inclusive manufacturer MSRP.
The important contents difference
Each edition includes a preconstructed 60-card foil deck, 64 sleeves, a playmat, 12 damage-counter dice, Poison and Burn markers, a deck case, a playmat case, a damage-counter case and a Pokémon coin. A preconstructed deck can contain repeated cards; “60 cards” does not mean 60 different designs.
The Japanese and Korean boxes include five anniversary promo card packs. The Traditional Chinese box instead includes one 25週年收藏款 booster pack, and its publisher list also specifies a card-storage box. Those pack configurations should not be substituted for one another when checking a supposedly complete set. See the Japanese, Traditional Chinese and Korean publisher contents.
Identify the native edition
Japanese: 25th ANNIVERSARY GOLDEN BOX
Japanese edition · packaged productMatch the Japanese cards and packaging rather than a seller’s translated title. Japan’s publisher replaced the originally planned October release with a winter 2021 shipping window for Pokémon Center Online lottery sales. That notice does not establish an exact dispatch day, so a single October date is not an interchangeable release reference. View Japanese product details.
Traditional Chinese: 25週年黃金紀念箱
Official packaging image · publisher cropThe Taiwan and Hong Kong announcements document the same Traditional Chinese product name and pack configuration, with their own currencies. The catalog’s image is labelled as an official packaging illustration; it is not evidence of a photographed shrink seal. Use the native name and the one-booster configuration together. View Traditional Chinese product details.
Korean: 소드&실드 「25th ANNIVERSARY GOLDEN BOX」

The Korean announcement specifies a Korean boxed edition with the five-promo-pack configuration. It also notes that components other than the box and 60-card deck are imported and share specifications with overseas products. Similar accessories therefore do not establish the language of the deck or outer package. View Korean product details.
Does “Chinese Golden Box” mean Mainland China?
The Traditional Chinese edition documented here is for Taiwan and Hong Kong. These announcements do not establish a Simplified Chinese Golden Box release for Mainland China. A Japanese import sold by a Chinese shop remains a Japanese edition; a seller’s Chinese description does not change that identity. Keep the Traditional Chinese catalog separate from the Mainland Simplified Chinese catalog.
Other anniversary collections, including products called Golden Collection or Celebrations Ultra-Premium Collection, should be checked under their own names. A gold design or anniversary label alone does not make them one of these Golden Box editions.
